Pssst, navy boys: if you spot yourself in this photo and would like to wipe it from the course of history, we understand, just drop us a line and we’ll get it sorted (and send you a copy to keep)

OUR STORY

As a 16 year old Mike Todd spent his career on Nuclear Submarines escaping onto two deck to while away the hours reading his way around the oceans at 300 feet below. The traditional Royal Navy deck sandal was standard issue when Mike joined the Submarine service in 1984 and his original pair has been worn for the better part of three decades.

Now that his original pair of sandals has been honourably retired after years of dedicated service, Mike was inspired to remake the original sandal, using his years of shoe industry knowledge to launch Twodeck Brand in 2016.

Comfortably settled in Australia with his wife and children, Mike now spends his days running the Twodeck Agency and Twodeck Brand – ventures that bring his extensive industry knowledge and passions for travel and reading together.

OUR FACTORY

Twodeck exists within an industry that is becoming increasingly consumer aware, and it is important to us that our customers know where their products are made. The TD001 is handmade in Portugal by Cualvo, a small family owned footwear production factory.

Cualvo has facility to produce around 200 pairs of footwear per day through their small factory. Their family has been connected with footwear production since 1967 and is now a third generation family business.

“We have old installations but with many stories to count, and passion for what we do” – Cualvo Factory

The team at Twodeck have worked extremely closely with Cualvo to develop the TD001 and will continue to do so through production and the addition of new styles.
